My girl was in the market for a new laptop and I helped her. This is what she bought
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Toshiba+-+La...8122294915
I cannot believe what you can get for 600 bucks now a days. She got it for 599 on sale.
I was going to upgrade my 2.5 year old laptop, now I am not. It is not worth it. I can just buy a new one.

i just bought a new compaq from BB. They had it listed for $799. They two more that were listed for around $500. They said they had one for me, they'd do the restoration CD and i could come back and get it in an hour. When I came back they said the Didn't have either of the $500 dollar ones up on the rack so they gave me one of the $800 dollar ones for the lower price. Worked out quite nicely. Free windows 7 upgrade and so far I love it.

I paid 1500 for mine from my school last year when i got there. Its a dual-core 2.5Ghz, 4GB RAM, hot swapable DVD Burner, 12 Cell Battery, NVidia Graphics. But the reason i got it was because it came with all the software i needed for my major and IT support.
Im looking to upgrade when i graduate as this one has been beat around quite a bit.

Toshiba's are nice. I we bought ours 3 years ago now and the only problem has been with the AC adapter (died into the 3rd year).
