I have a buddy who is going through cancer treatments, and he is a huge sled buff. To be able to ride this year, he would definitely need electric start, but I can't seem to find a kit for an 04 F6. He's got some big bore kit on it as well, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference.
I have found kits for an 05-06.
Are the kits backwards compatible with the 04? If not, has anyone retrofitted a kit onto theirs? What are the major differences between these sleds that it wouldn't work??
We're trying to figure out the easiest way to do this, without buying him a newer/different sled...

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion.

Just might want to note that they aren't made by Cat anymore, and are on Closeout on that site, so who knows what kind of availability they will have in the future...
