I have a mxz 600hosdi. I have my suspension, bars, seat, and graphics the way i want on my sled. Now its time for a little more snap. Im gonna get my clutching done in the shop but i also want to get a pipe. will a pipe see any power gains without a can? i dont want my sled to be much louder.

Do you mean running an aftermarket pipe with the stock can? If so, then yes, you will def see a power gain with a pipe. A lot of the newer aftermarket pipe can combinations are about the same decibel level as stock. In the last few years there has a been a big push towards quiet hp and away from loud hp, by the manufacturers and aftermarket alike.

Just make sure to have your clutching done to match extra hp from the pipe. Usually u should be able to get a clutch kit from the same manufacturer that made the pipe, or at least they will have clutching recomandations specific to your sled with their pipe.

Aftermarket pipe + Aftermarket can = more HP, Less weight

Aftermarket pipe + Stock can = more HP, similar weight

He thought you meant just not using a can what-so-ever. So did I. But like others have said you will see an hp increase with the stock can/new pipe.

I'm Really glad to hear that, Stinger's really only belong on the race track!

I had a bike with a stinger. it sounded good to me... FOR THE FIRST MINUTE OF RUNNING. then it just gets annoying

if your gonna spend all that money on a pipe it might as well sound good too though a stock sled doesn't really sound all that great
