I have a 99 500 xcsp, and ive been debating on getting a newer 09 550 iq shift. It was a preowned sled with like 700 miles on it. Would it be worth my time and money to purchase it? Ive heard excellent things about the sled as a whole. But i just wanted some further input before i spend the cash..

well kelly blue book says its only worth 4000... but i think i would pay 4699.. it is a really great sled. just say you will pay 4699 with all the taxes and license fees. if you want to know any thing about this sled just ask i will be completly honest

new sleds are nice to have, less problems theoretically, warrentees, etc. The sled may be fun for a trail, but a 550 fan is a hell of a lot slower than a 500 liquid. If you like the performance of your sled, you will be disapointed with this sled. You'll probably still love the features of the sled and how it handles but be disapointed when you pin it out of a tight bend on the trail.

Your XCSP is a lot faster. You will be dissapointed if you get a fanner after you were on a liquid.

Well from what i hear from the performance on your 550 iq i wouldnt really be too disappointed. I mean im not a ram on the throttle 24/7 down the trails type of guy. Ive never liked doing that. Sure i love to go fast but i also like to break trail when i actually do go riding Up state.

does the iq 550 have the very lean half throttle burn downs that the older 550's suffered???

the 550 will stand on end if you pin it from a dead stop! i ride in alot of powder and i have not ever been disapointed. my cousin has a 600 xcr and i always beat him off the line in a wheelie! haha

my bro just paid 4500$ for a used 2007 iq 600 with 900 miles. i don't know if that is such a good deal. this older iq will out perform that newer shift every time. if you take the time you can find a deal on a good used sled. they are out there this time of the year and they're usally hiding.

buy the snowmachine and swap engines lol. you will be disappointed. tried one out. that chassis would feel alot better if it had more power under the hood. say like 600 or better. pref. the 600.

Well I have never ridden one, but let me just say that all the sled mags I read say that it is a good value, has good power, and because its a fun aimple and light. I think that you will like the fan, I don't think it'd be astronomically slower than your current sled, if at all. Plus the IQ chassis should be better handling I believe. Judging by how you described how you ride, sounds like a theoretical good fit. That's my .02 from a person that has never ridden one but just thought I'd throw it out there.

i had a 07 550 supersport!!!pig in my opinion, great handling no speed! for a few extra bucks you can pick up a 09 600 iq shift, like i did, awesome sled, handling speed ride just all around great sled and you can really "tweek" them up! good luck on whatever you buy! as long as your riding and happy with what YOU bought who cares what others say

2001 600 edge X almond spring on primary with 60gm wieghts, s&s rumble pack, gutted air box 6" woodys doolys carbides,196 woodys 1 1/4" studs

2009 600 IQ shift all stock still a virgin!! not for much longer
