Got a question about needle and seat. Do they just go out like right now or do they gradually leak more and more?
Reason I ask, last time I had the sled running (about a week ago), started and ran perfect. Just the other day it wouldn't start and found out the crankcase was full of gas. There was a temp increase of about 20 deg. from last time and am thinking maybe the tank somehow got pressurized and pushed gas past the needles.
they probly got dirty. just clean'er up and she'll be runnin' like a champ.

I would say the temp increase had alot to do with it. They don't normally just go bad. Usually they tend to leak over time.
I didn't think they would go out that fast.
Thanks guys.

Ok, this is a question for a friend of mine, he has a 800 storm and says it runs but his "chokes" are out of sinc' any suggestions? The sled had sat for a year or so but he starts it now and then.

I just did my '96 Ultra. I went 10" from the end of the tunnel to the mount surface of the mud flap. That dimension is along the top of the tunnel at the existing angle. If you increase the tunnel angle at the extension you will obviously have to go further.
Looks good. What did you do underneath for structure?
Well those side plates are 3/16" 6061-T6 aluminum, which is overkill for a tunnel extension, and are held by three 1/4" bolts on each side through the existing tunnel stiffeners. I figured I'd be able to put those holes in the side plates without loosing too much strength lol. I moved the original mud flap mount back and that will be riveted in place (that is what the vise grips are holding in the picture). The top of the extension is .065" aluminum sheet that will be riveted at the original mud flap mount location, along the side plates, and then riveted in the back to the mud flap mount. All the rivets are 1/4" steel. At the end I will weld a 1 ¼” aluminum tube for a bumper/handle. The only thing underneath will be the wiring and clamps for the LED taillight. Overall it should be a fairly robust design.
mud flap...is that a mudmobile then? lol i'm just kidding. did u make the tunnel extension yourself? looks good btw.
HAHA yea I hate calling it a mud flap. For clarity I was trying to more descriptive than "flap", which is what I usually call it.
Yea I made the tunnel and rail extensions, thanks. I put eight tooth Wahl Bros. window drives on it and a 136" x 1.25" Ripsaw.
If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch.
If there is any choice, overpower the problem rather than trying to finesse it. In poker, one Smith and Wesson beats four aces. In engineering, one positive fix beats four probables.

No skiis and no wheels. I have a tunnel, bulkhead, and bellypan from a 96 XCR 600 SP, 2 rear skids, one is 8 inch and the other is Xtra 10, 2 good seats, 96 XCR 600 SP hood and windsheild and headlights, and tripple pipes and silencer off the ultra.
Can you send me a photo? The left side slide rail on mine should be replaced but is useable for now.

Alright i've done some searchin but there isnt a lot of info on sleds this old. The sled is an 83 Indy 600, I need some input on clutching for a big guy (270lbs) and jetting for AAEN pipes at about 3500 feet. Any input would be great!

So I've noticed most of the jetting questions are met with "search" but I need some help here. The guy I got my Indy from rode at about 2000' higher than I do and he didnt run pipes. Since I'm putting the AAEN pipes on and with the elevation change I have no idea where to start. Right now it has 200, 210, 200. How many sizes should I move up to start my fine tuning?
