Some tracks were designed to help you stop better than accelerate, some people flipped them around to get better traction and acceleration.

Are you just looking at the letters on the track and they are upside down? That doesn't mean its running backwards. Check for an arrow indicating direction of track spin. I bet its not backwards.

Depends on the track. Most have a flat face to the lug and the backside tapers off and isn't square. From the factory that taper is the acceleration/traction side. Flipping will put the square edge into the acceleration side instead of braking. I've flipped tracks this way numerous times.

yeah the taper side is the side that would be doing the grabbing on this one it would make sense to me if it was flipped around from how it is and it would put the flat side to do the garabbing but i just got the sled and havent ridin on it yet so i dont now how it will go yet thanks

Normally a track is set up so that you have the most stopping power, by flipping it around you would take off better but have less control over your sled depending on the tracks lug size/pitch. I would rather keep the track the right way because i do a lot of trail riding and get into situations where i need to stop quick. If you are only drag racing, it would probably be a good idea.

i drew out a little diagram, ya, i do realize i have to much time on my hands. As you can see, the picture is of a backwards track. the lugs are pointed so they are going to grab some snow when you hit that throttle. but, you can also see that if your going towards a tree, slam on those brakes, and lock the track up, that track isn't grabbing anything. your just going to keep on sliding. so here is the question, does putting your track backwards gain traction? yes, it does. But, is that little extra speed or acceleration worth smashing into a tree, rock or maybe even another fanatic? i personally don't think so, but, that's up to you.
Bambi would have been a better and shorter movie if he was shot in the beginning with his mother
if a ride on lawn mower takes bumps better than your sled, its time to upgrade

I have always looked at mine and thought it would grab better if it were on the other way.
