Im getting pretty serious on buying a new sled for my girlfriend to race this season. What do you guys think about the F6 SnoPro? I personally don't like the TwinSpar chassis but that's just me. Any input is appreciated.

Her and I are pretty much...married. Haha. Been together for a long time. She raced in a 120mile Cross Country race last year and she's planning on it again. It was her first race and she got 8th out of 30 racers so she did pretty good.

Question what did she ride cause if it was an older beater, she will crush if this is the race sled. but you will have to drop a 600 in it.
or have here race with the F7 is she really likes speed.

They quit making 440's in 07, so any actual SnoPro CHASSIS would already have a 600 in it. I presume Will is talking about the F6 SnoPro Consumer sled since he referred to the twin-spar chassis, but I could be wrong.

Only in the consumer models. The actual SnoPro race sleds are in a 600.

For cross country, I would say a HUGE NO to a race sled. Trail sled with race bracing and tons of extra gas tanks.

I wasn't thinking that so much, just the overall comfort. A trail sled, with revalved shocks, some stiffer bracing, a tour buddy auxiliary gas tank, as well as a gas caddy, with a tall windshield, and a 600-800cc motor or even a 4-stroke sounds perfect for xc racing. A guy an hour from me designs sleds for endurance races ( 1200+ miles a race ), and that's pretty much what he does to the sleds. He mounts things like an axe and safety equipment to them as well.

okay, 99% sure he is talking about the twinspar F series F6. Its not the sno pro racer...its the "sno pro" trail sled. You have to have a 600 to do these races, thats why i kept the etec.
As far as cruising one of these 100 to 150 mile races...those sleds are fine. I love riding our F8 in the main trails, its very comfortable.

Sorry guys. I've been working. Yeah im talking about the F twin spar chassis. I can get a pretty good deal on one. Brand new from the dealer for the M.S.R.P with Ohilin shocks all around ALONG with the fox floats that come stock on it. That's a few grand right there just for the ohilins alone. Im not a big fan of the twin spar chassis' either. If Cat made a CFR 600 i'd be all over it. I told my girlfriend "Your gonna have to upgrade from your ZR 500 sooner or later..it might as well be sooner". As for dropping a 600 in it..I thought of that(I even made a few posts on here about it) but like I told her, she's gonna have to upgrade sooner or later. Haha!

Cool! I hear they handle really well and are beyond comfort. Report though if the engine is as anemic as they say!

I heard they handle VERY well also. The negative things i've heard about them are the weight and recent magazines claim the engine to be "outdated". The weight issue isint a big deal considering that it will be used strictly for racing with a 130lb rider(The old lady) on it. As far as the engine being outdated...sure it's not an E-tec but it'll be a HUGE upgrade from her previous sled.(1999 ZR2)

I thought about finding a 'previous year' Fcat. I figured i'd go with the 2010.. main reason being they lost a little bit of weight from the previous years along with a few other updates.

+1 to that. They actually shaved 8 lbs by taking off the worthless plastic cargo compartment. Now they have the compartment behind the seat which IMO is pretty badass with the way the seat looks.
