im not 100% sure if that sled is suppost to have a boost bottle, but judging from the holes in the boots its suppost to have one

if the boost boltte is missing it wil draw air form the holes and causing it to lean out and seize the engine if it even starts..

the holes in the carb boots need to be plugged use a boost bottle..

They didnt have the bottle from the factory. Stick your finger down the hole and make sure they're still plugged up. If so then an aftermarket one was never installed.

no. They came with boots with the ports for the bottle but no bottle. You had to finish cutting or drilling a hole. So look or try pushing something in the holes. To see if they are opened up or not.

Every carb boot for polaris case reed engines have the provision for a boost bottle. BUT from the factory they are still sealed because they don't come with one stock. If you cut out the plug in there then you can run a boost bottle.

Like said, the xc's had the provisions for them, but were not installed from the factory. That will be an aftermarket part you would put on. I wouldn't worry about it.

part number for the carb boots on the 05xcsp600 is 1253423. the boots had the stems that were capable of holding a boost bottle, but the rubber mold down inside the stem is plugged. like said before, a boost bottle is an aftermarket add-on that the owner must install. it was never offered as an option from polaris. the owner has to cut out the rub inside the stem to open it up to allow the boost bottle to function.
all xc's have these carb boots, but if you dont see the stems sticking up, its because the boots are in upside down and the stems are pointing downward

personally i dont think your getting all that spectacular of a deal..
"track is good" --right in the pic i can see a stud that ripped a chunk outta the track. i can only imagine how many other tears and pull-throughs are in the track.
i see a couple broken studs, and they all look pretty dull
plus the duck tape on the hood... i mean who does that? it takes something thats already bad and make it even worse by making it extremely noticeable and unnattractive.
damage to the front of the hood signals that the sled has hit something before.
it also looks like the inside of the right ski (as you are sitting on it) has a large chunk of the plastic gouged out of it
i also see wear on the seat down wear the bumper attaches to the tunnel, as well as the taillight lens is cracked.
left running board is all crinkled (right by the bolt for the rear suspension)- signifies that it got bent and was tried to straighten out.

this sled has shown signs of abuse, and makes you wonder if the miles are even correct...
my 2 cents

I wouldnt be worried about the engine, look at the TRACK!

and you say tracks in good condition????? It looks beat to **** and rotted!

you are gonna end up paying the guy a 1,000 then another 1,000 to get it running right.. that sleds a wreck.

i also see silver rivets holding the snowflap on. which means the snowflap has come off or been replaced for some reason. the rivets are black if they are stock from the factory.

with the excessive signs of damage to both the front and back end, this sled has definitely seen better days. if i were you, i wouldnt buy it. the only good thing thats left about the sled is the motor, assuming the compression is good.
