Some rubber cement and some duct tape will work. I would be so sad if that was my sled.
1998 Polaris Indy 500 chassis with 98 Xc 600 motor
SLP ceramic coated pipe with SLP can
V-force reeds
4 inch pivot riser
Gutted Air Box
EPI clutch kit soon to be installed
Maybe some pro tapers
1998 XC 700 water-cross sled
SLP twin pipes
Some light weight parts
Water-cross mods include taking the parts u do not need
This includes removing the seat replacing gas tank and IFS bars.

That is kind of funny in a demented way. Oh and no the weld suck! I went over and broke the weld by grabing the handel bar and twisting.

Well, at least he did one thing right..
Any time you weld by a fuel tank, make sure that the tank is full. It's the vapor that explodes, not the fuel itself. A full tank won't explode, only burn.

great so now we only have 10 gallons of BURNING gas not EXPLODING gas?????? AND vapors will always only burn, its when theyre confined they explode. if you use that phylosiphy(i know i spelled it wrong) youll always have a problem. remove the fuel from the equasion youll never have a problem!

Ask any welder... If they HAVE to weld on or around a fuel tank, they fill the tank. (of course, they usually remove the fuel tank if they have a choice)
And what is a tank, but a confining space?

Burn it up go for broke, watch the night go up in smoke. No serenade no fire brigade, just pyromania.
You're right, if a welder HAS to weld on or around a fuel tank, they fill the tank...
...with WATER.
No welder worth his salt (or has more than two brain cells to rub together) welds anywhere near a flimsy container full of gasoline.
The guy obviously didn't give any thought to the matter before he started. Just lucky the garage/house didn't get burned down.

I just got home from his place and he just put 10 gallons of gas in the tank and moved it in front of the garage when he called me. I told him I would have removed the steering collum and welded it but he was wanting to get it done. He's doesn't even know how to weld any way. Yes he should of had a something to put a fire out before he started. And go to find out he does not have insureance. He had it up by the garage door so the welder would reach when it started. If his Uncle's sled wasn't in the garage he would of pulled it inside and they would have lost more than just a sled. They hook it with the car and pulled it out into the driveway so the garage wouldnt chatch fire and just watched it burn.
What did he do that for, unless he was going water skipping, but the snow isn't coming for awhile yet. Or maybe you guys do have snow, but I'm guessing not.
