I have a 2002 ZR 500 CCE with 2950 miles on it. The left jug was ticking last winter before a trip to the Keewenaw. Rode 280 miles with no problems the first day and came out to ride the next morning and the left cylinder was dead. Had is checked at the AC dealer and it had 0 compression, nothing registered on the tester so I know it can't be good. I ordered a new moly piston top end set to rebuild it but was wondering if I could put a 600 top end on the 500 crank?? Would like to have more power and was curious if it would work on the 2002 model. THis will be my first rebuil so any advice thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Ya you can but then you need 600 piston and jugs, have fun finding those for under 300 bucks a piece.

thanks for the advice. I priced out the 600 parts and they are pretty steep so may keep what i have. Any idea what it costs to have my jugs honed? where to get it done at??

I live in wisconsin and there is a place called speed tech motor sports and they do all that kind of stuff. You might want to look for something like that in your area.

I got a new jug from mickeys, it was 200 per cylinder if you trade them in.
