Hello everyone, Ive been researching 2 wheel setups, seen 70$ conversions on SLP and such, and have seen many sleds using a aftermarket setup. i changed out my highfax and removed my axle for room to move the track over and change them out, looking at the rear axle it looks quite simple to mod, thankfully for this pourpose i have a lathe.
the alum spacer i mesured at 4.920, washer at .060 and specs on the bearing show me its .4724 wide,
It appears if i trim the alum spacer .5424 to fit in a wheel and another washer, and add 2 stainless or alum spacers inplace of the 2 outer wheels equel to the inner race of the bearing (or even from a old worn out bearing) then it should all bolt up as normal i think.
Has anyone done this?
i look to start this pretty quick, i would have been doing it right now but this storm hitting the west coast seems to be missing tahoe, of course.
had to get it ready, wasnt sure what to do.
well post pics when i do it.

That's the first time I've seen a two wheel mod with the smaller idlers. Running 2 inner wheels is getting pretty common with 8" idlers on mountain sleds (makes it easier to side hill I guess). I just put an offset axle kit on mine for 8" idlers, and with it you can just take off the outside wheels on the fly. I'm running 4 wheels now, but will probably pull the outer ones at least once to try it out.

The nice thing about stock idlers is the overall price, for me this cost allmost nothing to do,
and compared to 70$+ kits, i could do it for others much cheaper.
i look forward to the sidehilling improvement my self, i can see why its better,
