I have done it with race car before is I took 4 home scales that went up to 500lbs I think and put one under each tire and added then all together for the gross weight. But if you cant do that take it to a local truck stop or feed mill that has a truck scale.

Take it to your local dump and have them weigh it on there scale...cost like $20-$40 and they even print it out for you.

woodbooga: (WOOD-boog-ah), n. regional dialect, common to areas of New Hampshire and Maine including the towns of Ossipee, Alton, Farmington, Acton, and Lebanon; one who attempts to obtain free firewood to fuel woodburning appliances in an effort to mitigate expenses related to home heating with fossil fuels. Frequently used as a term of derision by non-woodburners who mock the presence of loose bark and other wood waste in the beds of their pickup trucks.

GVW would be about 1800 lbs.
You have to include the total weight of the trailer and the intended load as well.

In Ohio you can get a certified scale weight at any grain elevator, usually $5. The DMV don't care about the GVW, only the trailer weight.

Here in NY I took my old trailer to the local place that recycles steel and give you money. They have a certified scale. Cost me 5 bucks.
