Im looking at buying a race sled that is trail converted.
i would be using it for about half trails and half ditch banging and jumping.
im pretty sure that when you buy these sleds they dont come with an ownership am i right?
if they don't, what needs to be done to make these actually legal to ride on trails and roads?
how are you supposed to change the snowmobile over into your name?
thanks for anyones help !

in the states you just need a signed bill of sale and go to your local department of natural resources office. Not sure how it works in canada.

ok thanks, does anyone know if it the same in Ontario ?

woodbooga: (WOOD-boog-ah), n. regional dialect, common to areas of New Hampshire and Maine including the towns of Ossipee, Alton, Farmington, Acton, and Lebanon; one who attempts to obtain free firewood to fuel woodburning appliances in an effort to mitigate expenses related to home heating with fossil fuels. Frequently used as a term of derision by non-woodburners who mock the presence of loose bark and other wood waste in the beds of their pickup trucks.

i dont know what you mean by "race converted", it is trail converted, trail heads, jetted for trails etc.
its a dealer that is selling it, it was used as a practice sled for a year, then trail sled for a year.
and the dealer said he doesnt have the ownership, but he has a unit history to prove its not stolen ? is that pretty much the same as an ownership?
sorry about all these questions. i just need to know

it doesnt matter if its trail converted or anything.youll want it trail converted to ride on the trails.if it doesnt have ownership you need the proper bill of sale and some other paperwork to get an ownership and have it put into your name then put insurance on it.nothing needs to be done to make it trail legal
