I have a 09 800 Dragon with the Walker Evans shocks. I have a knick in one of them , is there a repair of some sort without having the shock rebuilt? ie:new shaft

i think you might have to replace the shaft. there are places, but idk where. maybe consult your dealer?

You would have to replace the shaft, once it the shock compresses to that point with the nick in it the pressure will leak through the seal. If its not deep you could try to take some really fine wet sanding paper and try to even it out then polish it. If its not deep theres a good chance it might work.

If it gets worse and you are riding it, it will eventually wear out the seal head also, then it will cost you a lot more.

Most shock places can get you a shaft, install it with new oil and recharge fairly cheap.
