Me and a buddy both spring ordered a 2011 mxzx 800 and just got them about a month ago. I had the dealer put the studs and tunnel protectors in and so did my buddy. But while out riding today my over heating light came on. So I looked into the problem and there was no coolant. I further investigated and found my studs going through the rear heat exchanger. We both have about 300 miles on. And apron further investigation I found out my tunnel protectors are 5 inches shorter then his. So I was like WTF. So it's dealers fault right? And what is the possibility of getting a loaner sled from my dealer? The fun part was, was the fact that we were 70 miles from the truck and it was only my one buddy. So he went back to the truck while I waited 2 hours for another friend to drive to where I was to rescue me. And I ended up walking 3 miles into town to get somewhere warm. It was just a big head ach

You may be able to get the dealer to fix it, but it sounds to me like you jumped your sled way to hard and thats what caused it, studs dont just magically go through the heat exchanger.

If you don't have the proper tunnel protectors, they can scratch with a small bump, so with anything larger than that, they will slowly tear the coolers apart.

You paid for a new undamaged sled, they did "something" to damage it...are you getting your new sled?

They better get you a new heat exchanger or if there is any damage to the tunnel a whole new tunnel or entirely new sled. It was their responsibility to equip you with correct tunnel protectors. Just go in there all chill and explain the situation, don't flip out unless they claim it is your fault.

It went over pretty good. The tunnel protectors were cut to short so when I bottomed out it grabbed the protectors and pushed them foreword past the stoppers. They still won't say it's their fault, there claiming that it was a bad pair of instructions. They are giving me a new heat exchanger and tunnel protectors. The down fall is that the best riding conditions are now. :( and I won't have it till Tuesday.

So what about overheating and riding with no coolant? It is probably ok but something to think about. Also sounds like some suspension work is in order....bottoming out a 2011 XP....? Good to hear they are covering the other parts.

The over heating light came on and I shut it down. And every once and a while I hit a culvert and she bottoms out.
