Tfin and others say it's easiest to put sled on its side when removing replaceing the skid. Tilt her over and try her again.

Pop the torsion springs off their stops (so that the springs aren't trying to push the skid "open" - in other words, release the tension on the springs). That should make it a whole lot easier to align.

Roll it over on it's side and then try putting the bolt back in. I would try this before taking the rest of the skid out. If you do take the skid out leave it on it's side. It is much easier.

pop the torsion springs that will let you move the skid forward, and up.

removing the limiter strap helps also and a ratchet strap to help align

i was gonna say to take out at least the bolt across from it to get it lined upa gain, sometimes when you just take one out it has enough give to move a lil bit on ya and have to loosen everything up a bit to get it lined up again
