remove the belt

take out the bolt and slide the clutch off the jack shaft

use a pair of snap ring plyers to get the ring out, this is a stiff ring and ya might need to use a screwdriver in combination with plyers to get it off, there is a spacer(thin washer) under it it might get cought in the ring groove if so use a small screwdriver and get it out,

the helix will pop up

take out the helix and the spring, then take the 4 star head screws out,(they are there for the bushing )

now seperate the 2 sheeves, the clutch (faces) are called sheeves, ALSO if ya look in the sheeve that has the shaft sticking out of it there will be a plate in it take it out

now ya can remove the buttons, if they are stuborn, then get a torch(littel one from any store) get a screw and get it H O T , use plyers, push H O T screw into button, let it cool then pull button out, now clean the he!! out of all the parts, iv ordered my bushing/buttons/spring, so till i get them (by fri. i hope)this is on hold, iv also ordered my bearings, so the (jack & drive shaft bearings 101.. is on hold till i get the bearings, the chaincase 101... is on hold till i get ready to pul it back in the sled H O W E V E R... coming soon to a forum near you... clutch alinement 101... staring... belt deflection ... any questions ?? just ask ?

in the mean time ya can clean the he!! out of all the parts, a dish washer works G R E A T .... ??a what??? yes ,the dish washer, how ever be for warned this may have S E R I O U S. ramifacations...... when your ol'lady finds snowmobile parts in her dish washer (use causion) timing is the trick..lol.. .

A mountain lion roaming the prairie found a bull, killed it and ate the entire bull. With a heavy belly, unable to walk, the lion laid in the tall grass moaning and roaring. Soon a hunter, attracted by the roaring, shot and killed the lion. Moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut!
