Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the new rmk 900. I am thinking about getting a new one in 151". I would be interesting how it compares to say the 800 skidoo or the m9.

I have a 166 900 I only have about 150 miles on it though. I haven't had a belt problem or anything. I have had it in 3' of snow and it didn't seem all that bad. People are thinking that it should be whip lash take off.........from what I here that is not how it was designed. But there are a lot of people who are clutching and and changing the helix and also regearing it. For gearing the 151 an 159 you want a 2.11 ratio area and 166 2.25 area. Think Polaris might step up to the plate on that one from what I here. It is a nice handling machine an plenty of power. Don't think you would go wrong with it.

2005 900 RMK 166, Simmon skis, RK Tek head, VForce Reeds, SLP pipe, Fire n Ice Airbox, gears and clutching, BD Controller, Koso dual egt. Took it all apart and did light weight diet on it. Half five gallon can of crap left over and 3 days later :)

Is polaris going to regear for the 05 or o6 models. I have been hearing that these sleds are sluggish. How does it handle? How well is it balanced. Is it fairly easy to sidehill or pull and ride on one side?

From what I hear they might regear the 05's if you have not done so already. I would think that for 06 that is the way they would come. I think it handles pretty good, and a better ride from my edge 700 rmk. For me to pull it over takes a little bit more doings because I am in a chair. But I just lean off the side and give it a yank and it comes around. The center of gravity is really low on them I think. Cause there should have been times where I should have tipped over but it didn't just comes back down on it's skis.

Didn't get to ride it.
Looked like it ran hard and floated good.
Dan didn't want to get off of it.
I don't blame him.

They have the power, but need the clutching and gearing set up.
Geared way to high and clutched way too mushy from the factory.
Once set up and broken in to where the motor loosens up, IT"S ON. Also needs the vents added to let out the engine heat. High Mark had some of those made as well.

A buddy of mine just had his first 900 rmk issue..... The crank sheared at the clutch.....can you say ouch!!!! He's trying to get a brand new motor, but so far the dealer is just saying they'll put in a new crank.... I don';t think i'd settle for anything less than a new motor on a brand new $10k sled with about 300 miles on it!!

thats my 05 900 RMK 151" it has about 1800 miles on it as we speak and i ride almost every other day its a great sled really at first i hated it but now i love it it handles pretty good and have had no major problems but i would like to see some spindle adjustments hope that it gets fixed for 06 and would like to see some fox float shocks or some **** to that effect im gonna throw a set on soon and some twin pipes and a 4 inch bar riser other than that is has plenty of power and floats on top of the powder

i took out the demo 159 from the shop here was or seemed very tippy at first but after A few miles on it it was good being up higher gives it such A different feel! after that I had no complaint's ( I ride A 03 escape) first time you take it over A jump or through A cornice you'll be hooked! does'nt have any more power than my 800 but it was stock! and hang's right up there I'm sure no prob making this sled really rip.

I have a 900 rmk 151. we have about 6' of snow in the mountains behind us at 9000'.
compaired to the 05 800 there is a unbelievable amount of torque and handles in the trees like a dream. you dont notice a weight difference between the two sleds. I added the vent kit on the clutch side to aid in cooling. Polaris is supplying dealers with new motor mounts to stop the vibration on the 900. dealers (at least mine with change the mounts ar no charge). You cant go Wrong with the 900

over 500 miles on my 151".... the cooling trouble potential was taken care of by my dealer with a vent... it certainly has more torque than my 800 had and is FAR easier to ride and steer.... wish they could have done something about mileage...

Here are the vents machined out of aluminum that High Mark Recreation in Boise had made and sells.
Some nice machine work too.
They do make a difference.

If any one is interested, they go for like $40 or $50 for the pair and High Mark will ship anywhere.
