Was looking at this Tillotson carb and wanted a guide to help me rebuild it. it looks like it has alot of little screws and springs. I checked and Tillotson's website dosn't have the manual for the hd series. If any one knows of a site or knows of how to rebuild this carb i could use your help thanks

Good luck with that project. I had some Tillotson HD info at one time, but have no idea where it is now.
As simplistic as the design seems, I, nor any of my friends who actually knew things about carbs, could ever get the damn thing to work right.
Try a Google search and see what comes up.

Do you think i could put a mikuni in it's place?
I was going to get one of those general snowmobile repair books to see if they had any info but before i shelled out $30 for a book that i might use once i asked here.

I've done dozens.
Ship it to me with the parts and I'l do it for ya.

I rebuilt the carb ,not hard. But now i can't get the top end adjusted. At low end and idle it's nice but at top end it backifes and dogs. Any ideas. And also if i put a carb boot for a mikuni on this 372cc motor could i get it to work?

you could put a mikuni carb on it

i would say a 32mm would work

you can by adapters to put them on

you will have to adjust your jets

tillosten carbs are very finicky i had one on my olympic spent one whole day to just get carb adjusted but she ran reall good after that

this is funny topic. I have a tolson on my sled and every time the thing breaks doun it is that carb.

my go kart also happends to have a tolson, hl series tho. when I send methinol through that thing it is verry fussy. I have to rebuild it every weekend to keep it right.

last year out in minnisoda at the haydays event I saw a vintage sled with a slide on it. he said that it worked nicely. just had to rig up a seperate fule pump. which would meen you would have to grab crank case pulse frome somwhere I guess.
