The rh aren't available anymore. They pulled them after the first few years.
Ahh, good then . I picked up some Delrin washers anyways, might as well for the $10($30 after shipping ) Price to pay if ya wanna play
We have gotten about 6" of powder over the last few days, better than a kick in the nuts. Hopefully the trails will be ready in the next week or so. Dying to get a ride in on the new Ice Ripper.

not bad at all. What did ya pay?
$600.00 is what I paid. I got it running last night after a severe carb and fuel system cleaning. It impressed me for 440. It needs a seat which I have already found one. It needs some TLC and care as it had been sitting for a few years with no use. It has 4730 miles on it. Took a compression test before I bought it and 135 on each side which seems great to me for a FUJI.

Hi guys, I'm new here so I was wondering if you could help me out. My sled a 1994 440 XCR special. It runs great, but the clutching needs a bit of fine tuning. The backshifting is not as quick as it should be so some input would be great

nope, no cash for gas. Wife may lose her job feb 1, so we are conserving all the cash we can. If she keeps her job then we will be riding feb 1.

Times are tough for a lot of us. I hope that it will turn around soon. Not being able to ride has been a disappointment but there are alot of people worse off than we are. I feel for them. Hopefully this time next year it will be getting better.

After putting my clutching back to stock, the sled is even more of a dog. Its up shifting to fast. I need to do the marker test to see if its primary or secondary, maybe both. Springs are probably about 4 years old this year. Sled pulls to 7000 or so rpm and doesnt hit the full 8200 until after a few hundered yards. It will pick up to higher rpms if spins on ice (river) then settle back down when it hooks up and climb to 8200 after a while.
Want to put the epi 50/34 full progressive back in with epi Yellow spring in 5th hole. If that doesnt work, then order new primary and secondary springs. New buttons last year in secondary.
Any tips?

50/34 full progerssive is way too much helix for these sleds. The HSP 36s upshifted too quickly for my sled. I've found that mine is much happier with an HSP 36, R11, or R12 with an HSP orange #3 or Polaris silver/blue #2. This gives me a good compromise fot a wider range of conditions. I have the Team on there now and will have a better idea once the jetting is where it should be. Have got your jetting dialed in after removing the UFOs? . The low end is lean and I need to install a new primary spring. The clutch is engaging at 4500 right now. I changed the venting on my sled from the handlebars (stock) to inside the airbox when I installed the Tempa Flow. I'm running 370 mains to start. It is recommended that you go up anywhere from 3-6 main jet sizes when going from venting outside the airbox to inside the airbox. I was at 340s for down to -20* F.

To be honest I don't know what the setup is exactly but all I can tell is that the primary has a red spring and the secondary has what I believe is a white spring (there's next to no paint left on the spring) And when you say freshin up the spring what exactly does that mean just to clarify.
Also another thing turned up. Yesterday I went river running, and when I went WOT it would run up to 8200 rpm and then the rpms would just start fallin off. it only pulled 75mph one way. Then going the other way it pulled 93mph, and I wasn't even running full throttle (it was close but not quite to the bar) the second time. and when i put the throttle to the bar it started bogging and rpms dropped like it did on the first run. I am very confused about this bit so some help would be greatly appreciated.

I am running the same set up I have ran previously before the UFOS. Pulled hard then. Went back to stock secondary clutching, I think the spring is worn. I ran the EPI 50/34 full progressive for about 3 years. I had no complaints other than not backshifting well in powder. Still feels better than stock secondary set up I am running right now.
The stock R8 helix is also a 50/34, just not progressive. Why would the progressive helix be to much if the stock is same angles?
Also jetting is completely stock, but tuned with tempa flow. Also think that my carbs could use a sync.

1/4 turn which way?
Nick,
The full progressive goes gradually from 50, and ending at 34 at full shift-out. This is why Polaris, along with HSP, started making what Steve Houle (owner of HSP) called the compound radius helix. The Polaris R32 & R8 are both 50/34s but the R8 is more aggressive in that the trasition to 34 happens farther down the helix. Both of these are at the 34* portion 1/3 of the way into shift-out. HSP started this in 94 I believe. HSP had their set-up in the 94 XCR 600 that won the AmSnow shootout that year. I had what is now called an HSP34 in a new 95 XCR 600. I had the same problem with too slow of a backshift on my 440. I'm currently working with an R11, HSP36, (same as an R12) and the Team set-up to see which works best for me. I put the HSP 36s in the 98 XC 6 with an HSP orange #3 and it works very well in there.

I am guessing right now. I can check tomorrow. I think it is with the dot up 1/4 turn Counter Clock wise. I will check tomorrow.
If you got the ins. sheet it should say where to set if your base is 0f which is what I beleive I set it to.

tnmemr, you mentioned getting the correct shaft key for the TEAM secondary. I checked online and can't seem to find one, it looks like it needs to be about half the height of the stock Polaris key. I guess worst case I could have one made. Any links?

Polaris part # 772116 $3.20
It is a rectangular key instead of square.
I've been using http://www.bristowsinc.com/fiche_select.asp. There are many others like this as well that you can find parts, part numbers, & prices.
http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/part...laris.aspx
is another that I use. The pictures are clearer on this site.
While you are at the Polaris shop, pick up an extra deflection adjuster screw for your Team clutch. They have a tendency to break easily.
Polaris part # 3234228 $2.97

Got a question about clutch weights. My boys 91 XC 400 Calls for 10M weights, the guy that had it before me has 2 10M weights and 1 10M5. What is the differance and which should be in there. It has a blue spring. And what belt should I be running? It has a 3211042 on it now. I should mention that it has a what I believe to be a 94 XCR SP motor in it. The head cover says XCR special on it and it has the coolant neck bolted to the triangle. Would that head cover fit on the O.G. motor? I need to know because I need to get head o-rings for it and need to know which ones to order. Thanks

I just replaced the screw, maybe I'll pick up a spare. I don't know why I didn't use the online fiche to look it up, duh...one of those days. I'm gonna go pick up a key tomorrow.
