Hey all.... any one have any experience with the muffler repacking materials I see available in Dennis Kirk or other places? Sometimes my old Indy just gives me a headache on a long trail ride cause it's just a little loud for me. Wanted to try to quiet it down with some packing. Anybody?

I repacked a set of Stingers once and the packing helped quiet it down a little bit but not as much as I thought it would.
A couple of tips when repacking are to make sure that the center steel baffles are in good shape(not rotted) and to wet the packing down before you roll it onto the baffles. This will make it allot easier to install.

Not all mufflers are meant to be packed.
I've run a Dg before and it did have circlips to pullout the chambers. Most Stock can's don't.

Thanks butcher boy and the rest ..Maybe I'm just too sensitive to noise. I know I do not wish to cut apart the stock exhaust so I
I'll just live with it....
