Looking for some advice.

I need to replace the slides on my 1995 Summit 583. I already bought after market replacement slides. Unfortunately, I don't have the service manual yet for this particular machine.

My plan right now is collapse the suspension using a tie down strap, fully loosen the track, remove the single bolt holding the track in place and pull like hell thru the holes in the belt, using vice grips or anything else I can get a grip on the old slide with.

So, how's it sound, what am I missing?

Take out the two aslider screws holding them to the rails, tap them back threw the window with a screwdriver and pull them out. Should only take 5 minutes. No need of messing with your track or suspension. They should come off pretty easily. If not then pour a little oil in around them to get em started

Might want to loosen track tension adjusters before you try to pull sliders. The newer thicker ones will need some space to be installed between the rail nad the track. Retension and align track when you're done. Oh, and put some kind of lubricant on the rail before you put the new sliders on so the next set will be even easier to remove.

You may also have to widen one window on each side for the hyfax to fit thru.... I'd also sugest loosening your track (loossen the bolts on the rear idlers and loosen up the tension....Do it the exact amount on both sides so all you have to do is re-tension when your done and probably not have to align the track....but also remember that you may need to turn it in less times than you turned it out as the new hyfax are thicker causing the track to be tighter)

I also leave everything alone except to loosen track and grease the track hole. Also clean and grease the rail to make it easer to get new slides back on.
