I just thought I would throw this question out there. I've lifted a lot of sleds on and off trailers that were of similar model to my 500 and for some reason mine is extremely heavy. Much heavier than any other Polaris 700, 500, 440 or 700 long track. Is there anything that would make this specific sled or any sled in general very heavy? I have not done any work to it since I bought it last summer. I am getting stronger i think...

Dry out the seat, better yet get a Boss seat for it. Mine seemed fairly light, idk, wasn't bad. It is just that it has a short "wheel" base, it is all compact and built low to the ground. That was one fast 500.

I think I'll take the seat off and see how much it weighs. I have to fix the tail light anyhow, and I can compare the seat to another seat a friend has lying around. Thanks!

No electric start or reverse kit. I should have the seat off in a few weeks to check it out.

Compared to my 96 indy 500, I'd say my 2000 500 xc sp is lighter.
I have been told that these sleds were built low to the ground to be fast.
