It seems that last night someone signed up on the site and started to send scam messages via private message and via email using the email features of the site. DO NOT REPLY TO THESE MESSAGES! I'm unsure how many messages were sent out to members from this person. As it stands right now, their account is locked and I am taking care of the situation to hopefully prevent this in the future. It seems people will go to any length these days to try and steal from others.
Also note that NO ONE has your email address. If you were emailed by this individual, they DO NOT know your address. Your address is completely private on the site. It is not displayed publicly anywhere and no one but myself and Polaris-Man has access to it. Like I said, the scammer used the email features of the site to contact members.
If you have any issues or questions, please reply here. Also, thanks to those who promptly reported the situation.

Thanks for the information, I was one of the recipients of the bogus e-mails. Thanks for catching the problem & dealing with it. Never have, and still don't question the security or integrity of this site or operators.

Reading that e-mail makes me wonder who would actually fall for this. I am sure there are some people who do but it sounds like a child wrote it.

In light of what happened, I've made some changes to the website. I've added more logging features to keep track of and warn me when there is a potential scamer/spammer on the site. I'm also now limiting the amount of emails a person can send from the site to other members within a 24 hour period. This limit is currently set at 10 messages but can be adjusted if needed. Hopefully these things will help to prevent this in the future.

I got two emails from this guy. However they were both the same. Ya that was the most pathetic thing I have seen in a while. If anybody would fall for, I cant even explain how stupid they must be. I got one today too, I replied back thru an unused yahoo account just to mess with him a little, I also posted it in the lounge before I relized you had put up this post. It is really sick what some people will do to try to get money from you. Wouldnt it be nice to get a hold of these scammers with your hands... they would have a little trouble typing after I got done with them.
