I searched the forum and can't find what i'm looking for. I want an LED tail/brake light for my Edge X. I am extending it to a 144" and have snow skirts off a 2004 Vertical Edge with the aluminum brace between the skirts. I want to mount the light to the brace. Where do I find a taillight? Thanks in advance.

I need big jugs on my sled, cuz my girl doesn't.

Fleixble array, that's what I got. I love the way it looks and is very clean. About $60. If either of you go with it let me know. You'll want to get the 3M adhesive they sell for a few bucks and the dual element to keep it on low light for riding and bright light for braking.

I got mine from Gander Mountain. It was very easy to install and it works great. The goos thing about LED is the whole bulb doesn't go out all at once, just the little bulbs go out one at a time so you aren't stuck with no tailight. It Think I paid around $40-$50 for it. This pic sucks but it is all I have. I can't get it to work right now, I will post later when I have some more time.

Did you get the 5.7" single element tube and get the dual circuit wiring? How well does the 3M adhesive hold it? I'm concerned about that with the snow and cold.

The adhesive worked OK..the issue was I thought it was a prep and not glue so I messed that up. What I did, was use crazy glue also. After I got it to stick I put a coat of crazy glue around the exterior of it. Where the light meets the seat. That thing is not going any where, nicely at least!

The one I bought last year was the only availae at the time. They only had one Flexible aray. Mine is about 6' or so. Flexes like they show, but I wouldn't put to much of a bend in it. Thats just me though.

For those of you running LED's, how has snow dust buildup been on the lens? I know that typically LED's burn a lot cooler than traditional bulbs.

I've read concern about them being able to melt off any snow dust kicked up by riding. And I know that my sled kicks up a fair amount onto the brake light lens. When my bulb was burned out, I was surprised how much built up on there from riding.

I know LED's are supposed to be brighter, in addition to having a better life-span. But I've always been unsure about their actual performance in a sled application. Sure they can look pretty sitting still, but I'd love to hear if they work on the trails.

I agree 100% and am skeptical about LED tail lights for this exact reason. My LED lights from SnowForce got absolutely caked with ice and snow during a powdery ride (warmer spring evening = softer snow) one time even with them on the whole time. A 100% groomed trail ride they should be alright however.

I would like to hear some first hand experience on this for sure.

Here's my taillight after a few hours of trail/powder riding with NORMAL bulbs that produce much more heat than an LED.

Going off this picture LED taillights on anything but a groomed trail might not be worth the safety hazard.

I haven't had a chance to ride with this light, but my old one (stock witht he Renegade rack) got real dusty. I'm thinking since this is farther back that it shouldn't be too bad. On my Doo at least. The back of my jacket doesn't get to dusty at all so I would think my light would be OK. But thats just me.

Rode all last season with an LED tail. I was concerned about snow buildup. No problems at all. Guys I rode with all said the light was very visible day or night.

I rode with mine all last season. No problems with snow build up, but also look where is is mounted. The light that I got does get warm enough to melt the snow. About every stop I would clean off all the light as usuall and the tail light was never caked or completly covered with snow.
