I am starting to look at clutching my 96 Indy 500. I want to clutch it myself and not to buy a pre-made kit. I do a lot of riding in the 0 to 40 mph range and like a good holeshot out of the corner. However, I would like the sled to pull hard across a lake too. I run an Ultimax III belt which recommends putting 1 or 2 grams more weight in the primary than stock. I was wondering if getting weights with a different profile would be beneficial. I noticed the stock weights tend to taper a lot from the pin to the tip. If I added a slightly heavier weight overall with more weight at the tip and a stronger primary spring, do you think I would gain anything? And for those of you who will ask, yes, I know it is only a 488 Fuji, and that if I want to go faster, I should get a faster sled, but I will be keeping this sled for a while and want to get the most out of it that I can. Thanks!

If you do a search you'll find some advice from a couple of years ago. I can't remember who the guy was, but he had a couple setups for Indy 500's. I used to have a '99 and he gave me some ideas. Try digging into the past posts.

I would to because I'd like more low end, since I ride a lot from 0-50 and would like to get to 50 fast lol.

40-36 helix, silver/blue secondary spring, and a blue primary spring. leave the weights, it will shift faster with the heavier spring.

White EPI primary spring. yellow EPI secondary spring, 40/36 helix, and drop the top gear in the chain case. Works good for me.
