^ They did with my extensive pictures and step by step. Took awhile and alot of information to be provided.

I am going to redo them but without the primer. I think your right with the gases thing.

do you think the paint flaked the second time because maybe you didnt bake the primer? or did you bake the primer on first, then paint the silver over it?

I did not bake the primer then the paint.. the instructions didn't say to do that if I recall correctly.

I think the primer got hot and emitted a gas, then bubbled the paint.

I am going to do it again this summer and NOT use the primer.

i had painted my pipes with just straight duplicolor high temp 1200 degree paint and it still flaked after hourse of prep and starting my engine letting it cool down(essentially baking) like the others pointed out. I think it was after 200-300 miles. THen again it only flaked on my manifold and the first 4 inches of my pipe the rest was fine.

Yeah keep us posted!! I was going to paint my pipe this year with 1500 high heat paint (forget the brand) but now that I see your problems I'm going to wait.

I used that same primer and paint setup you used....i only cured it leaving it in the sun (did the job in the summer), then running the sled in the winter....from what i can remember i never had bubbles at all.

its been 1500 miles and i wish i could check it but im at school. if i remember correctly a little rust started to come back at the y pipe....ill try to get pics next time im home with the sled out.

Ok i found this pic from last year....its near the end of the season. ill still try to get a current one.

ps. the seal between the y pipe and the actual pipe wasnt perfect at first and sprayed a little rust out from inside the pipe...
