fires with a good accelerant like gasoline or aerosol grow faster than you can ever belive

this weekend I had to use a fire extinguisher for the first time in my life after a barrel filled with scrap metal started to smolder when I threw a hot piece into it, before I could get it out the door the cans started blowing up and flames were about to the top of the barrel, I turned around and grabbed a fire extinguisher and in that half second the flames were up to 12 ft high. I was amazed how quick that fire can grow.

Sorry to hear about your friends sled. That has got to suck. I hope he had insurance to cover fire. This reminds me, I still have to call to get insurance for fire and theft on my sled.

If you read the other posts, sounds like they put the studs in somewhere other than at his house, hence the "he took it home" part of the original post.

There was also mention of the sleds owner having to hurry to get the truck and trailer away from the blaze. That would lead me to believe that he was probably unloading the sled, went to start it and that is when the fire started. Probably was gonna take a rip across the grass and then into the garage.

Doesn't seem all that suspicious to me.

do you have any more pics? i started my mom's sled on fire last year... stupid me hooked up the jumper cabel wrong i only took the padding off the inside of the hood and it needed acouple new wires.

Owning a race sled is like having a totally hot girlfriend..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!

Man, that blows! Tell your buddy that bad things happen in threes, so he should be good for a while!

There are many aspects of school that you young kids don't appreciate until you get older. Little things, like being spanked by a middle-aged woman!
