Add 12 V Plug to Sled without battery started by Datto

	I have a 99 Polaris XC700 . I am trying to hook up a 12V plugin for my GPS. How do i test for a hot wire . I used a volt meater but I could not get a reading .Un hooked the yellow wire off the regulator and started up the sled to test and the low beams burnt out Will the voltage change dammage my GPS? 	Your GPS is designed to run off of DC, Your snowmobile produces AC.... Unless you have a rectifier built into the stock wiring you are going to have to get DC somehow. Polaris does have a 12v DC powerpoint/lighter kit designed for their sleds. I forgot the part number. I installed one on my 96 xlt. The kit included a rectifier, lighter jack, basic wire harness, and capacitor. Call your dealer and ask them to research it for you. If I remember right the kit cost around 55 dollars. It was a simple and straight forward bolt in without any wire cutting and splicing.
