Well, the past week has been weird but this weekend it got a whole lot better for riding. Over the weekend we got around 12 inches of snow and it is still coming down hard! By the time its all done we could have a foot and a half of new snow on the trails. It also is the heavy/thick snow so its not going anywhere for a while.
Weekly Summary: Trail grooming will now start up again regularly and will be in great shape in most areas.
Snow Cover on Ground in Ishpeming: 16++
Snow Cover in Big Bay, Just to our NORTH: 16++
Area Grooming: The Moose Country snowmobile club does a majority of the Ishpeming area grooming. There are also several other clubs that maintain the other areas of the county such as Big Bay, Republic, Negaunee, etc... Trails are groomed on an as needed basis, so during busy times they are normally groomed at least once a day. During slower times, it may be every other day.
NEWS: For best trail conditions and the least amount of traffic try weekday riding.
Area Conditions: Should be in good to very good shape now with all the new snow.
