I am making a motorcycle camera mount. I want the one in the picture (100 bucks) but I have the resources to make it.
Only thing I need and can't find, is the black thing in the lower picture that I circled in white.
I am about to give up on the damn thing. Its some sort of universal camara mount. I have found some close but not like that. The knob is a MUST as that holds it securly in position.
Anyone know where to get one? I called everywhere and looked online

hey matt that type is know as a ball head, they are pretty popular because they are easier then a pan tilt head to operate and are pretty much universal. any camera or video store will have them, they have a threaded nut on the bottem of them for attacking to the tripod so all you will have to do is get a bolt to fit it. check out bhphoto.com, they have them for about 9.99 up to over a grand, check out this link

Duck thats it!! Thanks! I am going to buy that one in the link.. or find one locally. I have called 3 camara shops and they didn't have them. They only had them for tripods (large large)

the ones for tripods will work, but the ball head will work better for what your using it for though, because the pan tilt heads are bigger
like this.
you see them alot on cheaper tripods.
the link i sent you is recommended for up to a 5lb load, i think it was a mini, there is a sun pack one that will hold up to 9.75lb, so depending on how big your camera is you might want the other. i think i was like 29 dollars.
