I'm sure some of you have noticed that things aren't as fast as they should be around here. Sometimes it's speedy, other times...not so speedy...and last night, the server crashed again so the site was down for an hour or so. I've decided to re-architecture my setup, making some changes that should solve the problem. In the last week, I've spent about $900 more in parts for the new server with the purchase of a redundant DC power supply and an 8 port RAID card with a lot of on-board memory and I even got a battery backup for the raid card memory so that if there is a power failure, there won't be data corruption from data not being written to disk.

I hope to make some of these upgrades by the middle of next week. You shouldn't notice any significant amount of downtime, as the site will be running on a replacement server while I work on mine. I just wanted to let you know that there will hopefully be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Finally, we're running on the new parts I ordered and a new OS architecture.
