lately i have been looking for another hobby to get into, photography is a fun hobby but pricey and will hopefully be more of a job this spring with senior pics. i have had a r/c car, truck and boat before but not a plane so i took the plunge and bought one. the big thing i have noticed that the prices have came down quite a bit if you want to get into the sport, the plane i bought is a rtf model which runs about $159, but all i have to do is attach the wing and throw in the battery and fly. wing span is 48 inches and its 32 inches long. i decided to go electric because they are cheaper and much simpler to fly, which is good for someone new. so what i was wondering was if anyone else here flew r/c aircraft and if so what are you guys flying. this is the plane i ended up getting

I have the exact same plane that you have! The ACT is nice but after you get used to flying it turn if off its much easier to fly with it off once you get the hang of it. Be sure to buy extra props and cowls thats probably the most likely thing that you will break. When you fly it be sure to fly it on a day with no wind because they weigh next to nothing and it is almost impossible to fly them. Take some pics of it when you get it all put together, here is a pic of mine!

lol for some reason im not surprised that we have the same one, they are extremely popular. i ordered another prop, firewall and spinner. next are going to be some 8 cell 9.6volt 1500 mah battery packs for some extra fly time. i should have it the middle of next week, fedex is pretty fast around here. i might paint it, not a big fan of white, i might go with something brighter to make it easier to see.

i have seen alot of people say that act is a good idea, but doesn't work as well since its easily confused if you fly over different surfaces. im joining our local club, they have a nice maintained field to fly at and they also have quite a few special events during the year. it will be great to fly and a good place get some interesting photos.
