This page gives some details on the restoration of my 76 suzuki A-100a
I bought the bike in fall of 06 from a friend of mine that couldnt fix it. this is what it looked like when i first got it. I looks like it was a originally a small road bike, or maybe a dual purpose. It had all the lights, Yokohama road tires, even i little horn.
when i got the bike it had no spark, so i took off all the lights, and switches, and tore out all the wiring. i wish i would have left the wiring intact because i discovered soon after the only problem was that the coil was unplugged, plugged it it, and she started right up. i took off the rear fender and took off the airbox because there was no filter, or piping. heres wat it looked like at this stage
after a a couple of ride i decided i liked the bike, but i needed some changes. the road tires sucked in mud, and washed out on wet grass. needles to say new tires were a must, got some offroad tires that were alittle wider than the originals for more traction. i also didnt really want to keep riding something with a dorky front fender, so i fabricated a belly pan. The paint job was also pretty lame, so i gave it a fresh coat of paint. the Chrome muffler was was pretty beat up, so i hot tanked it in costic and gave it a coat of BBQ paint. heres what it looks like now after these updates. what do you think?
It still needs some work. i am planning to get the seat recovered. i would also like to redo the wiring for the head light, it would have made a ride home after dark alot faster.
