I'm not worried that your going to copy me, but you should really do an awesome sf theme on the rmk so when we go out to the mountains, they'll see our sleds and say " hey these sleds are sick!, we should check this place out!!" (i'm going to carry SF business cards in my pack this winter) allways gotta try get your name out there or you could run the monster stickers and they would think your a "pro" rider!

No posts in over a week. Any new progress on the other sled?
What gearing did you run in the new mountain sled, and what gears did you run when the 660 was in the IQR?

i hear ya on that. Let me know about that gearing when you get a minute, if you can remember. I'm having trouble finding a good ratio in my 660.

My gearing last year was 23-40. Clutching was 10-64 weights(or 11-64, if you prefer that), almond spring and stock 600 HO secondary setup.
I have cracks in my rails and some other things wrong with them which I found this weekend so I think I'm just going to get new rails made up.

Thanks for the gears man. That really sucks about the rails, there was a set of them on ebay like a week or so ago. If you're going to get brand new ones you might as well get some custom ones made up 136 and tipped for the 8's.
Looks like your spindles took a beating last year!
Keep up the good work and post some pics of that motor when you get it!

The spindles were not baked long enough in the oven for the powder coat to adhere properly. I'm getting 2008 spindles anyways...and if not, getting a set of these re-painted. I'm not going to tip up the rails, but they'll be offset for the 8 inch wheels. I'm going to see if I can get them powder coated black as well.

Erick, got a suggestion for you to think about. This is what im doing to my 910IQ because i had a little trouble with it running to hot.
If you put the 800 in there, and leave it to run CFI instead of throwing some carbs on it, use some doo parts. I saw heath said on HCS you could use a rev tank off a 600SDI cause it has the pump inside tank. Find a rev seat off an XRS or a freestyle...or a race seat if you can find one. Then use that tank and seat and put a full length Doo cooler in it. I'm in the process now of cutting the tunnel for that cooler, and i bought a doo race seat! Kind of a pricy way of going about it but it should work really well. i had a small cooler in the back like the 600RR's have right now and it was still getting too hot. i think they just dont have enough surface area.
Just something to think about. I'll post pics of what mine came out like when i get it finished.

I'm already adding additional cooling to it and I think it will be enough. The only time I had problems with the 660 last year was on the really hardpack trails last year on the northshore when there was hardly any snow. The combination of switching my track and adding additional cooling capacity like I am should solve the problem for the 800.
Not only that, I'm not too keen on the way that rev seat / tank combo looks on these sleds...and it's not just about having the fuel pump in the tank (that's the easy part). It's getting the computer properly set up with the airbox / pipe / can combination and that requires a run on the dyno and someone to re-program the computer. Now, I can come across someone pretty easy to do that for me, but time and availability are an issue in that situation. Ease of tuning on the trail is also a consideration...that's why I kinda want to go with carbs...and, less wires, less weight.

Why cant you just use the factory computer setting off a Dragon 800? Or is it because you have to experiment with making a custom pipe again?

Things are slowly coming together. I got the rails done finally and am now assembling the rear suspension. There were quite a few broken parts including broken torque arm (have a new one now), cracked rails, bad bearings, and broken wheels, and other worn out things. I guess I was hard on it last season.

Also, you will see the broken torque arm and some new spindles for the RMK.

Hahah you're so worried I'm gonna copy you. Of course I won't...wouldn't want to look like the brothers riding around. I'm thinking though...maybe...just maybe that RMK needs something cause when it's all black like that it looks like an RMK Shift.
Looking great erick, you could paint it all green and slap a Cat sticker on there..that would be the finishing touch .lol But seriously white flames would look awesome on that sled.
