Well after a summer of searching I finally ended up purchasing a 02 Mountain Cat 800 EFI '151 from Country Cat in Sauk Centre Minnesota. We thought we might find something up at Haydays when we went but the two sleds we liked were sold when we went back. The sled we really liked was an 02 mountain cat 600 efi '136, but like I said it was sold. After making the trips through the swap we finally made our way to the vendors and talked to the guys at Country Cat and they told me of this sled they had for sale on consignment but that they hadn't brought it with them. So the Monday after Haydays, I gave Jon a call up at Country Cat and had them email me some pictures and he assured me that the sled was clean and in real good condition. So I decided I should probably make the trip up to Sauk Centre from Sioux Falls, SD to take a look at the sled. Needless to say, I made the trip home with a sled in the back of the truck.
A few things:
1.) First I would recommend Country Cat in Sauk Centre, MN to anyone around. They were great to deal with and I would go back anytime. Jon told me everything about the sled and they were true to their word. They went out of their way for a sled that they were selling as a favor to a family. When Jon pulled the sled off the trailor he noticed the steering was loose and called me immediately to let me know before I made the trip. (a bolt was look, quick fix). Secondly, because Country Cat didn't own the sled they werent responsible for how clean it was, but Jon went ahead and washed it and got it all clean so I could see it. I just want to thank the guys up there for their help; I think Jon thought I was nuts cause I honestly think I called 20 times before I made the trip.
2.) Now that I have a new sled, kinda wondering if I should change my forum name. The ZR is going to my dad because he is beginning to ride more and its something we're gonna do as a father/son thing. The sled does fine in the mountains with the 1.25 track and he doesnt get to rediculous out in the mountains so the sleds perfect for him. Plus its good for trail riding around Omaha. But what do you guys think? Should I keep the name or change it to my new sled? I'm kinda thinking I should keep the current one.
3.) I was retarded and left my camera at school and didn't take any pictures when I went up or even when I drove all the way back to Omaha, but here are a few pictures of what Country Cat sent me so I could look at the sled. I'll get better ones when I head back home next time.
