hi. i was wondering if you could help me out on a problem. i had just purchased a used 2003 firecat 700 this summer and it was running good then i took out the plugs to get the number for a new set i put them back in and it will start but the tac wont turn on untill it i rev it up and the lights stay dim when idling. now it floods its'self when i give it some gas. i tried unhooking and reconnecting the plug to the tac and the lights and to the computer but it still does the same thing. is there any other wires that i could have hit fot it to do this? like it still starts but when i give it gas it stalls out.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

i wanna have it ready b4 snow
thanks

Did you check the spark plugs wires to make sure they snapped back on the spark plug properly? I can't imagine a poor connection with the spark plug could cause such a drain, but it seems like anything is possible with electricity.

Did you run it right before pulling the plugs or has it been awhile? Perhaps a mouse got into some wiring.

Wouldn't hurt to check any grounds around the spark plug wires, perhaps you bumped on and frayed some of the wires or caused a loose connection.

Check the wires that run along the mag side of the bulkhead. It's very common for these wires to get worn through in this area.

I tried to show you in red, the wires I'm talking about. The bad part is even if they look fine, it's best to remove the electrical tape, and visually inspect every inch of wire. I had mine worn through, and was experiencing similar problems a couple years ago. It didn't look bad untill I removed the tape.

Also........the gauge on the 03's is VERY DIM to begin with. So even if you find a broken wire and fix, the gauge will still light up poorly. But hopefully the sled should run better.
