i plan on getting one. i know xbox has way more games. but i think ps3 will have many more, and better ones to come what o you guys think

I got a 360 when Halo 3 came out. After I beat H3 I decided it wasn't worth the $400+ so I returned everything(got store credit on the game  ) and proceeded to spend the money I got back on some new skis

360 has halo3 and gears of war. which is reason enough to get it.

^ They make that for PS3 as well.
The only reason I would/will buy a 360 would be for Halo 3. Not for the game itself (especially since it is so easy to beat. I know two people who have beat it in 5 hours, first time), but for the online gaming aspect.
PS3 is what I'd like to get first. If you look into the past, Sony has dominated the number of games it carries. Granted alot of those are crappy (depending on what genre you like to play), but at least there is more to choose from.
Keep in mind, the 360 has been out quite a bit longer (in system time) then the PS3. The numbers will definetely turn around.
As far as graphics/gameplay, they are pretty similar. I have played the same game on both of them and didn't notice a bit of difference.

im leaning tward the ps3. cuz ive never really been an xbox person, always like ps2 more then xbox. and i know there arnt many games out yet for ps3 but there will be.

ps3, the controller thng are more comfortable in my hand than x-box

Xbox 360 is the way to go. Anyone that beat Halo 3 in 5 hours DIDNT beat it on Legendary! Call of Duty 4 comes out next week. I was in on the Beta Testing, it's one intense game. I could go on and on about the games...
This is coming from a full on PS2 fanatic, Xbox hater, turned Xbox 360 player. I wanted a PS3 but at the present time there is no comparison, PS3 has some serious catching up to do.

Lol...I don't hardly touch games these days...but if I did they'd be on the PC. I'm just waiting for the next Half Life to come out. HL2 is the only game I've ever played through entirely (Except for Mario 64 - which was one of the most fun games of all time IMO).
As for XBox360 or PS3...I dunno...I guess If I had a bunch of PS2 stuff I'd get the PS3 just for the backwards compatibility. I just bought two Wii's this week for an Aunt of mine. Apparently they are hard to compe by around there but the Best Buy here in Duluth still had 15 of them or so.

i picked ps3 because of the blue-ray capabilities as well as the backwards compatibilties of the gaming system. the online features of xbox 360 are great but.. i would go for ps3 for sure...

X-Box. For one, Id rathar see my money go to support an American company instead of a Japanese one. For two, I think the X-Box games are much better.
There was a time not too long ago when Sony was #1, but they have been in decline for the past few years and they definetly arent what they once were.
Considering all the problems they had with the PS2s and how Sony pushed back the release of the PS3 because of all the problems they had with them, I definetly wouldnt buy a Playstation.

i did not know ps3 was compatible with ps2 games. that is great news cuz i have tons of ps2 games and then my ps2 broke. lol.

I have the regular xbox and the 360. I got them when they came out for xbox live which PS3 will never match up to. 360 has alot more features and alot better games. Each halo game has one game of the year. No game even came close to what the Halo series is. If i were you id get the 360.

word to that, i used to be into games a lot. now i have a ps2, and i only have 5 games but i hardly play anyways, except at my friends' houses we play guitar hero and NHL 07 and 08.
spend the money on stuff for your sled!

my roommate has a ps3. its okay. some pretty awesome games. but, it was like 200$ more. and for what, blueray? who wants to pay 30$ for a blueray dvd? the quality is better, but isnt that drastic from a regular dvd. and at almost twice the price. IMO blueray is just a fad and will be a thing of the past in about a year. get the 360. and gears of war. lol

I was involved with the beta and played it heavily. From the halo 3 beta and the Call of Duty 4 beta the Halo 3 beta was better as far as betas are concerned. I cant say much of how the actual game is going to be But its going to be close for game of the year.

^^^^^what is a beta? and one of the reasons i want ps3 is for the racing games also. and i never did like the xbox controller. i should be makin big bucks in the upcoming weeks. ill either spend it on 3 thngs. a console, a truck, or sled/parts.

Beta is a testing release of a game. We were able to sign up, get a code for download and play the game before anyone else.
The Halo Beta got horrible reviews. I was happily surprise by the game release. That being said when COD4 hits streets next week, Halo wont make it back in the console for a long time.
The 360 controller is much better than the regular Xbox controllers. It's very comparable to a PS2/PS3 controller.
The major thing PS3 has going for it is the Blu-Ray player. I'm waiting a while before deciding whether to go HD DVD or Blu-Ray. PS3 online play isn't even in the ball park of the 360. Technically speaking the PS3 is a superior machine, but they are so far behind in games it'll be tough to compete. Sure, it's sony and they'll survive... but my money's on the 360 continuing to own a large market share.
The 360 took my group of friends from a 1(xbox) to 10(ps2) ratio to a 11(Xbox360) to 0(PS3). It simply has more things going for it.

I would personally get a xbox 360, but whatever there both great game systems, even thoe i have not played the a ps3 yet.
