O.K., so I will wait for the off-road tires.

My triple has 2 of 3 brass choke plungers frozen in the carbs. When I get them out is there something I should put on them before reassembly? They worked fine all last year until it sat for maybe a month or so before loading it on the trailer to store it, when I went to start it I could not flip the choke lever. This is the first time I have had this problem. Any other advise is appreciated also. Thanks.

you can coat um with some 2 stroke oil, i wouldnt use neversieze or anything else that you wouldnt want sucked into the engine and burned off.An easy way to get them out if they are really stuck in there is to 1st take um off the sled then drain the carbs and make sure theres NO gas in there at all,and warm them slightly with a propane torch..DO NOT hold the flame directly on there. This is only a sugestion in the worst case secenario

I had the same problem with mine last year. I used some break-free or some kind of lubricant that will free rusted/frozen parts. I then coated them with a tad of grease to hopefully prevent it again. I just hate replacing the toggle for the choke after I break it trying to free them. Hope this helps.

Make sure to use a wire brush to polish them up good. Also be sure to clean all the orifices they fit into.

Thanks for the advise, I will likely be carefully trying the propane method as I have not been able to free them up yet with any penetrating fluid.

Well, 2 are free and one cable broke at the plunger. Anyone tried just having 2 chokes? I'm going to give it a try before buying a new cable set. Any idea on the price of new cables?

If the plunger is still in the bore just use a flat tip screw driver and twist it out. Just be care full to use light force. Also soak them down with WD-40 when you put them back in. Dont use anything too abrasive when cleaning them. A bur or a scrtch could cause it all over again. If your riding in deep snow I would hit the top of the choke near the threads of the choke bore with a little sealant. Should help keep the moisture out. The cables are usually pretty cheap. Maybe 20 to 30 bucks. Good luck.
