I have a 96 zr 580. The problem is that the speedometer will be regular for a while, and then it will just go around really fast until it gets to the bottom of the gauge. Is this my shaft bearing going? I took the hood off this weekend, could it be that i put it in wrong? any help is appreciated.

Moved from Arctic Cat forum and added description. ACM

The cable may be twisted, and it binds, then lets go... or could be lack of lubrication...
