my 89 srv has a problem that i don't understand. When i take it for a ride i can only get it up to 45 or 50mph at 6000rpm.after that the engine bogs and the sled will not go any faster.could this be a primary clutch problem? after riding for 15 mins or so i can smell the belt, and it and the clutch are very hot...any ideas what the problem is here....

thanks ...

I would check the berings on the drive shaft. Take a look at the drive chain. Make sure that all of the parts are moving smothly. Can you move the secondary clutch on your sled really easy? If not it might be a bearing... Hope that this helps you out!

Well i have it figured out..My primary(stock)clutch is junk.I opened it up and the rollers are junk, the weights are trashed...basicly It needs a complete rebuild. My local shop cant get all the parts that i need.Does anyone know where i can get the parts for a good price? The shop wants $24 for each weight x3 but still cant get the rest of the parts...What kind of yamaha dealer is that..lol....Its the ypz stock clutch off a 1989 yamaha srv 540
