Can anyone tell my friends and I where the best snowmobiling trails are in or near Pennsylvania. Also we wanted to know if there is a place we can park our camper trailer for a lot fee and sled right from the camp. Thanks

If you want to sled PA try this. In my opinion the best place to start is Marienville. You can take trail #1 out the west side of Marienville and circle through some great trails and wind your way back into the east side of Marienville all on trail # 1 after about 120 miles of riding. Marienville is off/on route 66 in NW PA. Do a google search for snowmobiling in PA and Marienville will be mentioned. Great place to start. Locals there are snowmobile friendly. Depending on your sled and sleds in your group you just have to plan fuel stops- theres not many places for fuel. Again do a google search and maps are available as well.

I am not sure about a base camp for campers- just check the PA DNR websites.

Here is some info. I have heard good things about the Warren area, but have never been there or anywhere on a sled in PA. I'll tag this thread, so post any good info you find out!

The Alleghany Loop goes right near Warren PA, down to Tionesta, and over to Marienville...you can drop off Brown Run Road which and there is a motel right next to the trail I believe.

If anyone is interested in the loop conditions let me know as I work in Warren about 3 days a week and drive right by the trailhead

Yes!, INTERESTED! I would like to know more and would 4-sure like to try a ride there if the trails are worth the 5 hr drive. Ohio has yet screwed another once good thing up. We used to have a reciprocity with PA, but pinheads decided they wanted to make every one who comes to OH to register here (I assume this includes all ATV's?). Who comes to Ohio to do anything other than to see the Airforce museum and watch the Bengals get their butts handed to them.
Sorry to vent there, but WHAT IDIOTS!... So now us Ohio folk have to buy a PA a registration (I think 20.00) Not bad if you use it and make a couple trips. I think it's good for 2 years as well.
I don't blame PA for making us pay though. I'd do the same thing if some other state acted so greedy!
