Well it took an extra week (Got rear ended pulling into my driveway last Friday) but I finally got the Indy on some snow. Festus33 and I went for a short ride this morning. Went to a favorite bar for a BloodyM and a beer then back home. I do have to adjust my New track. It started ratcheting when I hammered it with no weight on the ass end. Had a great time, included some pics and hope to go out before the game tomorrow.
Here ya go....

I hope you all have a great weekend...

We got a couple more inches last night...

So this is what I did most of the day..

We should hook up sometime and ride, I am only a few miles away! I put on 190 miles the other day and was a little sore, but did get out today and got another 100 miles on. So I am doing pretty well this season have over 275 miles in 3 trips out...

We rode fri,sat and sun mainly around rock, dane and jeff cty. Rock cty has by far the best groomers. They are out night and day packing them down. Where I only seen the hubbleton groomer running over in Jeff cty.

Put 322 miles on, not bad for a shake down run. We usualy only ride about 100 miles per day anyways.

Saturday was kind of a shake down ride for me.
My bro Festus33 got out again yesterday for a while. I think I'm going to put on a few miles tonight after work. I have to get in shape for the Isabella ride don't you know.
Coles 55, do you get on the Glacial Drumlin trail at all? We've been trying to figure out how to get up your way and just haven't figured out the trails yet. With the long weekend comming up maybe we can hookup for a ride.

We've got between 8"and 10" Plus some nice drifts. Festuss33 made a run down to the Fox River just north of I43 and noted there's lots of snow on the river but no tracks. I think we need a few more weeks of this good cold stuff before it's safe to ride there. Once it's good to go we will make a few trips out Racine way.

Yeah the Fox looked like it Might be rideable, but there were'nt any track's on it yet.
And I was'nt about to be the first one to try it.
We might try a run down to Racine area this weekend, even if We have to ditchbang down to Hwy. 20 and across to the trailhead.

I don't want to sound like too much of a dick here, but you guys talking & thinking about riding on rivers, are you stupid??????? Have you read or listened to the news recently??????????? 3 people are dead already this season from riding on ice this early. A man & a woman near Lake Mills & a man in central Wisconsin.

And, I just heard on the news this morning (12-18-07) two trucks went thru the ice. One on lake Winnebago & another on Fox Lake?? (not certain)

The ice on small bodies of water is BARELY safe enough to walk on for ice fishing, let alone support a sled, atv, or automobile.

Appreciate the updates folks! Please keep em coming.

I'm contemplating on bringing the sleds down (I'm from central WI) when we come visit this weekend for the holidays. It's kind of depressing that I need to travel south to find better snow...but looking forward to riding in my 'ole stomping grounds.

I said I took a look at it, I also said I was'nt about to be the first one to put Track's on it.
I'm fully aware of what happened, on the Rock over in Jefferson.
But that does'nt rule out Ice riding all season.
Believe Me the last thing I want to do is Sink.

Probably not very good right now, with the warm weather the past couple of day's.
Mukwonago has closed they're trail's, in order to preserve whatever base they can.

I'm glad they are closing trails while it's warm. We need to preserve that ice base underneath, and after these few days, a few more inches and we're back out on 'em.

I live across from the Fox River in Rochester (Waterford), and it's open in a fair amount of places. I wouldn't go on it, esp. with this warm weather.

I got to agree with you, Ranger!
It only make's sense to shut the trail's down thru the Heat Wave, to preserve whatever base We've got!
Up here in Mukwonago, it might even Smooth the trails up by, filling the low spot's with ice as it re freeze's.

At least it's stayed on the cold side. Maybe by the the weekend we can do some ditchin'. It's tough to figure what's going on when the local weather says one thing and the Weather Channel says another. Which has a better track record?

Well here it is, Friday at lunch time and it's snowing. We got a couple of inches already and hope it continues through the day. I doubt they will open the trails but the fields and ditches should be fun.
Have a nice weekend everybody
