OK first post and first sled so please be gentle. I have a 1992 Skidoo Safari LE. Really nice shape and I got it for a steal. Runs great after some new carb boots and new suspension springs. This sled did not come with a tach. I purchased a tach that would match the speedo over fleabay. Now most 377 fan motors are a 2 pulse output but this sled has a more robust stator that has a 6 pulse output. There is the problem this tach is a 2 pulse and the 6 pulse tachs that match are really rare from what I can tell.

Now you can get boxes that are tachometer interfaces to divide the pulses from the motor. These are used if for example you have a 4 cyl truck and you drop a 350 V8 into and you wish to use the factory tach. I need on that divides by three.

I think using a 555 timer chip one could make a circuit that would do this. So I need some help from a snowmobiler fanatic that is an electrical engineer or technician to help me design a simple circuit to divde the pulses by three.

I have found a solution. For about $50 Baker Electronix will modify one of their products for me. They sell these Adjustable Tachometer Signal Divider boxes for the motor swaps I was speaking about.

www.bakerelectronix.com

Hope this information can help someone else. After Christmas I will order one and we will see how I will make out.
