So, here in the rural part of Lakeville, MN... I have few neighbors, my next door neighbors are nice, my neighbor 1/4 mile away from my house... is NOT
I am out enjoying the fluffy snow that we're getting right now and he stops me, on the shoulder of the road, that edges his private property... He yells at me, I kill my snowmobile to tell him about the 15 yard rule and he starts arguing and I told him that last year we had this same encounter and I called the Sheriff, I am in legal riding area. He starts yelling at me again telling me I have no right driving on others property (Its kind of funny, this "property" that I was riding on was just a bunch of plowed dirty snow... on the shoulder of a county road. I don't know what to do anymore, he heckles and heckles other riders and he pisses everyone off. He started putting massive logs on the shoulder of the road and he calls the sheriff every time he sees someone out riding, its come to the last straw.
So, next time I see him, it, It's hammer time, next time he's reading for a registration on the back of my sled, I am gonna give him the ol' Christmas roost (Can you believe that? He's out putting logs in the road ON CHRISTMAS!!)
Epic.

There's a guy up the road from me who yelled at my little brother, sister, and braap boy for just riding up the road to get to the dam trail. We call him "shut-up". He's a real dusch. But I don't ride on others lawn at all, not even 2 foot off the road. i just tend to hit the snowbanks once in a while to cool my slides and decrease the wear of my carbides.

lol, sounds like A few of them are around here too... I HATE uptight, ignorant neighbors. There's nothing worse then riding around minding your own business when a person starts yelling at you throwing his fist in the air...for what reason? Because I am minding my own business with my family.
He's going to love it when he has a lawsuit under his hands when a snowmobiler gets hurt because he hit the sob'ing logs. If it was me I'd take them and burn em'.lol

I remember you having problems last year with this guy.
I would take pictures of him putting logs in the ditch, makes good evidence. It won't be your word against his.
I would keep your cool, if your acting as bad as him, your not gonna get anywhere, and you could end up in trouble, and also record him if you can.
other witnesses are also good.

I hate them people. last year i was riding on the tril about a mile down the road and i was on top of the snow pile from the plow trucks And i was following the trail.I stop at the road and at a corner house a guy is pounding steaks into the ground(i thought the guy was crazy) then as i wait for a car the guy comes running across his lawn and pulls my teather out of my sled.He was flipping out giving me every word in the book.I finnally just grabbed my teather and pushed the ass in the snow and took off.On the way back he had his whole lawn marked and he even moved the trail sighns. As i went buy he came running out from his garage yelling.I flicked him off and gave a big roost. If people are a holes to me im one back.

What i have come to the conclusion of i ride nice and slow out and in for the first mile. I got a rediclously loud sled and live in a big uperclass subdivsion. I ride nice and slow i talk to all the neighbors a couple times a year and ask if iam bothering them in anyway shape or form they simply go no you come in late but you are quite and respectfull. But there is this other idiot in my area some rich kid who thinks it is ok to DRIVE on others lawns and speed threw the area. If the police tell me i cant ride out anymore i will go punch this guy out. Iam not gonna loose my privalage for some douche bag. Ive had several neighbors complain to me about him and asking if i could go talk to him but he just slams the door and tells me to **** off along with others. But i had a incounter like yours 3 years ago when i was a little guy about 14 years old i simply told my dad what he did then one day he did it to my dad and threw a peice of re-bar at him, my dad simply got off and pushed him around him around for a bit and there hasnt been a problem sice. This wasnt even in his ditch this was on a ROAD i rode on and its the property of the municipality. I havent had many problems but when i do i just simply take them into my own hands if you know what i mean.

There are always idiots that think they know and own everything. A couple days ago I was on my way home. It was the middle of the day and I was riding on a groomed trail. Keep in mind everything here is crown land and legal to ride on. So I was gunning it down a trail with decent sized moguls in some places. I stopped at a store for a pepsi and some moron pulls in in a truck like a madman. He jumps out and runs over to me talking about how Im dangerous and Im throttle happy. I laughed since I knew I didnt do anything wrong. I removed my helmet and started to go in the store. Then the dumbass grabbed my shoulder. Before that I was still in a good mood. I quickly turned around, grabbed him and slammed him into his truck. In a somewhat calm voice I told him never to touch me and to shut the up. He muttered something under his breath, jumped in his truck and left.
I still dont know why he was so pissed at me. I was riding on a designated trail having a good time not hurting anyone. If I ever see him again, which will guranteed happen in this small town, Im gonna have another few words with him.

Yup some people are dicks. And it pisses me off. Some guy in my town tried to band snowmobilers under 16 from riding in town because a few tracks were put in his yard. Boy did that upset lots of people, and he was proved wrong bigtime because he had no clue what he was talking about and didnt know any of the facts and was yelling at the snowmobilers that we didnt know the facts, haha what a joke. But im with proxj when I ever ride down my rode I go slow and make sure to wave at everyone and they wave back and dont mind because im being respectful.

there is a trail near our lake that allows us to enter onto westhawk lake. weve been riding up there well for near 10 years, so we know this is crown land. but their is a cottage kinda near. someone buys the cottage last winter, and decides he doesnt like the noise so he put logs in the middle of the trail so we cant get by, now the trail is way off course and takeslike an extra 5-6 minutes. like rrrk, i think some people are just born to be annoying

OK about the logs call the township or the cops that is a hazard to cars on the road! what happends if a car spins out of control and hits the logs on the shoulder? he is in big EDIT if that happens, call the city, cops w/e they have to move them some EDIT down the road put boulders on the snowmobile trail so our race bikes couldnt drive on them in the summer!or anybody else that needed to go to the gas station, my mom called the city and they came and moved them its funny because this guy is also a trail STOP cop, My cousin tryed to block the one logging road by my house he put his truck across it and tyed his gaurd dog to the bumper, At that time i had my freinds banshee on hand with brand new RAZR's and with wicked brakes. So I had a great idea to back this bike up to his nice new F250 lifted with mickey thompsons (all black) and i got to a third gear burn out on this banshee with new tires lol in gravel! It dug right down untill it was sitting on the axle then he came running out, so i jumped off it had a quick ha ha pushed my bike out of the ruts and then dropped er in first 3/4 throttle and did a slow burn out again while i took off, he treid to chase me but hey I was on a BANSHEE! he did move his truck but only for a short time, then my dad went up there and said if he didnt move this truck he will move it with our Gradall. we dont have any more problems with this guy.

There's a guy like this up by our cabin. Last season he piled a bunch of logs in the ditch on the other side of the road from his house, which wasnt his land. Well, this didnt settle well with my dad and I so late one night, after we had a few, we drove by there and some how some of the gas out of the 5 gallon gas tank that i just so happened to be carring, "accidentally" got poured onto the pile of logs. Well than my dad, being the clumbs ass he is, dropped his cigaret onto the spot the gas had splashed onto. Well it started on fire really quick and we didnt know what to do cause, we had been drinking and well im underage, so we just got the heck out of there... It also just so happened to snow that night and well, the next morning when we rode by the dudes house, we made sure to wave to him as he was trying to clear his drive way with a leaf blower...

As long as you are doing nothing wrong, keep on doing it. Don't be difficult and retaliate by destroying property and such. That is just fueling the fire.
If they are doing things to endanger you, let the local authorities know and let them deal with it. Don't harass them back, that gives all of us sledders a real great name that we don't need.
Like I said, as long as you are doing nothing wrong, keep on doing it, don't go out of your way to harass them more. Just make sure that you are completely legal in what you are doing before you continue.

i like my town. i liv in the city and my neighbors come out and ride with me in the unplowed streets. im closest to the river and my yard looks like a designated trail. all the neighbors cut thru to get to the river. usually we got about 5-15 sleds out cruisin back and forth, racin, just havin fun. the neighbors that dont sled have lawn chairs and watch us do this. they take pics of all of us with our sleds behind us. looks real neat. i bet everyone wishes they had good neighbors like me, eh?? by the way mrs. schmidt makes the best brownies and brings them to us. i guess im one of the lucky few.
