I fired up my 1995 XCR 440 for the first time last week and the headlight doesn't work - I tried high and low beams but get nothing either way. Where do I start for troubleshooting it? Replace the bulb or check the wires?

Disclaimer: I'm not very technical.

Thanks in advance.

Take the switch off and see if the wires underneath are loose. If they arn't then check the bulb, I am leaning towards the switch being bad.

Thanks for the reply, xcr440. By switch, do you mean the Hi/Lo selector?

I would pop the bulb out first and have a look at the filaments inside to see if its blown. If you cant tell then hook it to a battery real quick to see if it works. If its good then I would start checking wire connections.

Dash lights and tail light are working fine; it's only the headlight that's not working... I'll pop the bulb and test it first.
