Well as some of you know, my 10yr old and I fixed up a 98 XCR440.Well I picked up an old 83 Polaris Star for my 8 and 6 yr old to start out learning to ride on.It has a 244cc single engine.I got it off ebay for 123.00,and the guy delivered it cuz he goes thru my town 2X a week.So i had to clean the points and what not in there, and replace the coil, flush the tank, clean the carbs, and put on new lines, and plug, and it fired right up.So I left the cosmetic stuff for the boys to help me do.They sanded the tunnel and bellypan, and the exhaust, and skis.I helped get it preped for final paint.I wet sanded and buffed the paint and peeled the old decals off,but they picked out some flame decals at auto-zone.Someone had tried to recover the seat so i did my best to make it work with the material that was on there (anyone have a mint seat, i'll buy it).I cut the windshield down cuz it was broken, and i think it looks better now short,i also put on some trim that we had at the shop.,and put a lil gold pin strip on the hood to set it off a bit more.So after it was done they waxed it,and sat on it making noises (my 6yr old is in the pics,my other lil guy hates his pic taken). Then next we took on a really old ski-doo cutter that has been sitting in the field behind the shop for about 11 yrs.I cant even remember where it came from. The interior is gone, but i have 2 nice boat seat that were gonna put inside.I also have 2 nice skis with shocks that will go on,and im gonna wire it for tail lights, put on a lexan windshiled, seat belts, and a few other items. The kids decided to paint it red and white which is good to match my sled in a way.Well heres the pics and i will post more as the cutter comes along.now i can have my 5 yr old son,and 3 yr old daughter go in the cutter...all the kids can enjoy snowmobiling now with me!!!BTW THE SINGLE SKI ON THE CUTTER IS FOR SALE.

Nice project. I would have installed the stock graphics, but your boys will probably like the flames better. Cool.

A long shot for the original graphics would be the Polaris dealer. Or find somebody who had some new old stock (NOS) ones. You might have to have them custom made, though.
