Just curious about winter and summer helmets. Aside from the faceshield on a full face helmet, WHat is the difference between a winter and summer helmet...example HJC CL-SP.

I take a lot of helmets apart for my painting process and I really don't find much different other than the lens (double lens on snow helmet and single on summer lids)
Main differences;
* Double lens
* Breath deflector
* Chin curtain
There maybe and probably are differences I'm not aware of though?

That's about what I though except HJC doesn't seem to be putting a bhin curtain on their new helmets anymore...or else the store I bought from is ordering the wrong helmet.

Yes, I've seen less of the chin curtains on snow helmets.

yeah i use my snow helmet on my street bike in the summer. i actually prefer it it seems the snow helmets have more venting for air flow, wich is also very if not more useful in the summer

I sell HJC helmets and find that the only differences are the shield and breath box. If you have, for example, a CL15, you can buy the double shield and breath box separately. This is true for most models.
