I was talking to a salesman yesterday and he was telling me the shocks on the dragons are crap. He said that they are already discontinued and dragons will be returning to bovoin shocks next year.
He said that he's sold a couple to guys that have sent the shocks out to have them revalved. When valved for the riders weight they are a decent shock. Anyone have first hand knowledge of this? Opinions on the shocks? If they are valved wrong and some people have to have them revalved then what weight are they valved for stock?

Makes sense that guys would have to get the shocks revalved for their weight over stock. It's too bad Polaris didn't forsee this, and type and get something set-up for people to take their shocks somewhere to get them revalved without much hassle.

We just put a set of Ryde FX Air 2.0s on a Fusion 700. They're a better feeling shock than the Fox Floats. (had a set of each side by side). Thicker and seems like they're stronger. I like them so far....no snow to test them out though!

Well I've been trying my a$$ off to get any info on these shocks and FINALLY talked to a Polaris rep on these unit's. There are NO trail adjustments to make at all. When you purchase an '08 Polaris, they will set them up for your weight (ie.nitro charge). Other than that, you're on your own. I'm glad to hear they will not be using them in '09.

I have them on my '08.
Not an issue yet.
I dropped of a bank into a ditch landing pretty flat from at least 12 feet, didn't bottom out at all.
The trails they are fine, jumps, stutter bumps, all good..... so far.
I like that they are a good all around shock with no set up required.

If it was a big deal, you could always pull the shocks, get them re-valved for your weight, and put them back on the sled. Might cost you what, $50 bucks a shock? I got 4 of my shocks rebuilt at the start of the year for $200 bucks. Seals, recharge, and valving. Can't complain with a price like that, since the two front were shot.

I just don't like the fact that there are no adjustments. Let's say you're super ditch banging for awhile then you wanna have a nice mellow cruise home. It would be nice to be able to do somethin' with them.

I agree, it would be nice, but what about previous sleds with no air shock. Guys would ditch bang, and then ride home on their current suspension set-up. Because air reacts to temperature changes differently, that's why Polaris went with nitrogen for the gas. Don't think we'll have best of both worlds, yet...

These Air shocks are supposed to be able to do that.
They are nice & soft until you start to really work them.
The further down the stroke you go the firmer they get,
without sacrificing smooth easy rebounding on smaller bumps.

Actually fasEnuf, that's what I,ve heard. The large chamber soaks up the stutters and the small chamber devours the big hits. I'd like to ride a sled like your's. I Love them Switchers.

If you remove the nitrogen and replace the valve with a shreader valve, you can adjust the air chamber on the trail. Air pressure changes with temperature a lot and this is why they come stock with nitrogen. For internal valving well just like all other shocks you will have to send them out.

Buy them directly from Arvin and they come with a pump. Polaris has them setup to their specs, nothing custom. I won't mind trying a set. There's more info out there then what your dealer tells you. Air shocks are different then coiled spring shocks.

Hey peepoles, just a thought here. If the Ryde FX 2.0's are so bad, why not get the Fox Floats. So what if nitrogen is heavier than air and their less suceptible to leaks, at least you get a friggin pump with the Floats and air is free, NO ?

^^ Hey CH, so how do you adjust them, you know, firmer for jumping and softer for cruising ? Also, if you leak nitrogen, how do replace it on the trail ? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Switches, just concerned about the shocks.

should only be leaking nitrogen on the first installation of the air valve stems. after that, and a simple recharge, its simply a pump and go ride...that sounded way off....

to adjust them you would need to adjust the nitrogen levels

Why would you need to adjust them? Do you always need to adjust your coil shocks constantly on the trail? Probably not. These shocks are probably a set and forget type of deal.

Both my Air 2.0's are loosing pressure.
It was skitish on the trail yesterday because it was sitting way too low at the front,
and the bumps beat the crap out of me as if they had nothing to offer for rebounding.

Well since I made this post I went ahead and purchased the sled. So far I've had no problems. I have a little over 500 miles on it so far. Handles awesome both on and off trail.
