Well I'm ready to get flamed for this.... but I just can't live with 8.6 miles a gallon anymore. My sled runs awesome, but I can't handle that kind of gas mileage.
I think I'm going to trade it for a 2005 Fusion 900 that my dealer/good friend has. I been riding this sled for a couple days now and it seems to be unbeleivable in power and coupled with 12-15mpg. Both sleds have the same mileage and this Fusion was owned by an older gentlemen who had 4500 trouble free miles on it. He originaly brought the sled in to have an electric start kit put on because he didn't have the strenght to pull it when it was cold, but after finding out how expensive that was he traded it in. For the last few months I been looking for a 900 to tinker with and couldn't find one until this deal popped up. The sled is in mint shape and it was just bought last January as a leftover so it only has a season on the snow.

My XCSP 700 runs excellent with near perfect combustion and the best I can get under low speed driving is 9mpg and usually in the 8's. I can't lean the sled out any more so there is nothing that I can do about it, plus.... man it is no IQ chassis... what a difference.. And I really don't know what all the fuss is about the vibrations.. they are about the same as my XC.
Anyway I think I may do this swap/even trade since I get a better chassis.. bigger more powerful engine.... faster (Topped out a 114 on the recall) and way better on fuel although it is a more ivolved sled as far as maintenance. The only thing I like better about the XC is the color... White and Red and the Fusion is the Blue Anniversary Edition.

As long as you know what your getting into with the Fusion then I say go for it. Those 900s are powerhouses when running good. But the vibrations wreak havoc on the internals, even if you dont find it that bad. SLP has a lot of items to make the 900 run the way Polaris intended.

Thanks Jay, I still am intending of grabbing the 2008 800 but like I said... My XC is so hard on fuel that it doesn't have that kind of power to warrant that fuel mileage, and yes I know what I'm getting into with the Fusion, I know that it needs a sharp eye on everything continuiously which is ok because I treat my XC the same way already.... it's kind of a habit.
